Title: Looking for a steering rack...
Post by: boltz2012 on May 13, 2009, 09:42:43 AM
Ok...I need to get my hands on a steering rack. I measured my frame and i think an 18" rack will work. I also need 2 heims and the bungs for the arms. I tried making another rack work and after hours of frustration you got to draw the line somewhere. So where can i get a rack and the heims?

the bungs can come from Doug, tell him you need 5/8 bungs. for whatever size tubing. the rack can come from empi, or dans performance parts... Give me your address and well get you one...

just figure long this way you can trim to lenght and install the inserts once you know for sure. Do you want 1" o.D. aor 1.25" O.D.

I also have U-joints off of an escort column. Ill just send you the whole column and you can trim trim here, snip snip there, and weld weld here.

I guess 1" would work just fine.
