Hey Baloo, what sort of two seater are you making? That looks like fun! ;D

l suffer from short project attention span syndrome ::)
about 3 months into a project l get the urge to start another one  ::)
so what l wanted was a buggy that was not to difficult or longwinded to complete and ideally finished and driving in 3 months or l would be adding another unfinished project to my collection  ;D

l am getting to old for hard core offroad, well at anything but a snails pace anyway,  l favor long flowing buggy tracks with undulations but no severe bumps, the pilot copes with this just fine but l would like to be able to take a passenger round with me and so this is what triggered this biuld,
needs to be a 2 seater, needs to be quick to biuld, needs to be a reasonable performer,
to make it quick to biuld l dident want to be making the suspension from scratch front or rear, so l picked on a rover mgf car as it has a subframe front and rear all the suspension, steering and drive train are mounted on these subframes so all l would have to do is make a frame/cage to join the front and rear subframe, the mgf has an alloy engine and box, 1800cc with variable cam timing, this gives a very wide torque curve, 150 bhp should see close to a  150 mph go-kart  :o  :o ;D ;D
heres a pic from a couple of weeks ago,you will have to imagine the big wheels and tyres, its now stripped and in the paint shop, then comes the nice part, screwing all the pretty bits on
l will post a link to a biuld up if anyone is intrested

Andy

l know l know,  l  have put the steering wheel on the wrong side again  ::)

its a print, l work in the sign trade, they are only a clip on panel which l can change after l take a trip through the bushes and wreck them, or l can change them for a new look as and when l feel the need
