New streetbike powered golf cart
« on: March 26, 2012, 12:56:06 AM »
A good friend was getting rid of his golf cart and offered me a deal I could not refuse. Dont have pictures yet. Its a custom long travel golf cart with king coilovers, full cage, prp bench seat, and a gsx 600 motor. Front suspension has custom tube equal length I beams and the rear has a swing arm. Its has a striped jet in one carb and a rusted out fuel tank. Those will be the first projects. Gunna do some powdercoating after that.

Cool!

loyalty to the American people."

The 600 running thru the factory rearend?  At the right price, with a little finishing be sweet little cruiser with some umph when you need it.
You can keep your CHANGE, I'd like to keep my DOLLAR.

The famous (infamous??) crisscross front suspension! They used to make a full sized buggy like that for a bit. How does it seem to work?
Your mission isn't to dive feet first into hell, but to make sure its crowded when you get there.

Yes, its the factory rear. My friend drove it around this way for a couple years. Honestly the cart is more for the old lady to get around. Her meds make her sick if we ride in the dunes too long so I wanted something she could get to the hill with. If I blow it up I will prob just do a solid quad axle.

Its basicly equal length I beams, like on a ranger. I rode in this about 8 or 9 years ago and as I recall it handled real good. I remember jumping into the sand drags at gordons and beating up on a bunch of vw powered buggies.

Its hard to tell by the pic, but that tire is sitting on a small hump in the dirt. The beam style the front end has camber change through the suspension travel like in a ford ranger.

If you look at the front limit straps you can see one is extended and the other is compressed.

Might be a lot of fun.  Is it a little top heavy feeling in the turns?
You smell that?

I ordered a new set of carbs this week. Just need to clean out the fuel tank and put the carbs on and should be race ready.
