Title: Supergoose Build
Post by: Mongoose on January 06, 2010, 05:38:35 PM
You guys could do with something new to critique.

This is my Supergoose project, based on the Mongoose design with a bit of inspiration from Edge and Rorty.

As this is all built out of my head, I'm interested if you guys think it will work (I do know I've got too much scrub)

Cheers,
Kev

Hard to get away without much scrub.

how do you figure, or get scrub again? forgot.

Looks like your build is coming right along!

how do you figure, or get scrub again? forgot.

I believe that it is the distance between the two red lines at the ground.  Difficult to make it zero especially with front brakes without having excessive KPI.

Shorten up the upper arm about an inch and move the upper mount on the spindle in to match.........

I believe that it is the distance between the two red lines at the ground.  Difficult to make it zero especially with front brakes without having excessive KPI.

Also difficult to get camber gain without a decent KPI..........

The photo is misleading, it actually intersects the tire more like this in real life.  Not as much as I would have liked, but I think I'll leave it like that for now

Before you do anything you need to align the suspension as close as possible to correct . If you do not there will be some nasty surprises later on when you do try to align it.

Align the suspension?  What do you mean?

You need to set or mock up  caster/camber before you start determining a arm lengths and mounting points.  Also I really  don't want to burst your bubble but if indeed the pic above is as it looks like with the red lines you are going to have a very, very  badly behaving car. They MUST be more like the green ones. Better to fix it now.
