Will be posted up soon. In the mean time the board was dead today, so I thought I would build suspense.
rofl
Keep your eyes open.......

gg: gg: gg:
Come on already!!
-
Slow day on the forum maybe but I got the turbo exhaust plumbing nearly completed today. So for a reward hows about those pics of the car?
-
It is not yet at the house. Supposed to pick it up @ 12:00 tomorrow. Wash it real quick, then snap a few pictures.
-
You get the one we talked about last? Killer deal IMO if so.
-
yes. That is the one.
Some tease for the others........
114" Wheelbase
13'7" tip to tail
Front track 86"
Rear track 92" with paddles on min offset. 88" with 10.50 BFG's

Hay Yummi

-

The little two seat black car with the four banger with turbo.

Do you hit the desert as well as the dunes?
I've seen the car.... Lets get on with the good stuff. ;) Somehow from the shooting pool pics I didn't imagine Mrs Yummi as being nearly so stacked. Very nice picture!
-
I might in this car - it has front brakes.
The black one had some issues that i was not fond of. So, nope not the black one.
Ms. Yum is keeping alook out for the car..... it appears to be coming from her left..... LMAO
-
Well if she is thumbing for a ride she would definately be in luck!
-
My old car:
Beam (Well, trailing arm), 2.0 turbo, coil overs with res. 14" / 16" Had some issues.
What I gain -
1. "A" (OK "J") Arm,
2. front brakes with bias control,
3. power steering
4. 2.5 turbo
5. bypass shocks
6. 20" f / 18" r
Likely has issues - don't they all?
Uprights are not powder coated as he broke the last set and replaced with bigger ones - 1" ball joints and 2" spindles with front brakes.
Here is his list of car - as found on his ad.
-Outfront 2.5L 300HP Subaru
-Az Transaxle built 091 (Weddle)
-6 x 2.5 Kings
-2" Gear One Hollow spindles up front
-Gear one 4 piston rear
-Newly restrung Master Crafts with new 3" belts
-Intercom
-Power Steering
-Chrome arms
-3 Hella 4000
-New dash and intercooler scoop this season.
Needs radio and some repaint of raw panels that were just completed, etc. After the sale of my old car, this ends up being a modest upgrade total out of pocket excluding paint on the panels. Not a bad deal for the list of stuff I upgraded to. Was never going to fit the round peg in the square hole on my old car. Easier to sell and change.
Link to review of builder, etc - guy out of Santee - JP Designs. Has a few cars out.

Nice car Yummi
You did good. I likey the 2" hollow spindles. Dose it have all the stock subi wiring on it or is it and after market ignition? What is the max boost? STI block closed deck or open deck? BOV?
-
Thanks,
Nope, upgraded wiring and injectors. On the block I do not know. It was new from out front - confirmed with john. 10# boost - yes on BOV. Runs a smaller turbo than a normal 2.5 - has the turbo the size used for 2.0 - he blew up the original 2.0 and kept the turbo, etc. Essentially a new 2.5 long block. So, spools very quickly and has no lag to speak of. Should suit my style quite nicely that way.
Uses a Electromotive TEC3 CPU came with upgraded coil packs (Tech 3 direct fire units), harness, all GM sensors in leiu of subaru sensors, MAP, Knock, etc - have the whole book on it all.

So, if it ever needs a new motor, that will be a hassle - but, just bring a check book would be my guess?
-
Looks Good! Is that a street legal tag? Or are you require to register off road vehicles?
When is the shakedown run? Season is basically over? How hot is it, surely you will take it for a quick test session? A couple hours when the sun is almost down or just coming up. How far to the nearest dunes?
-
We are required to register off road - $25.00 per year. Not Street legal - easy to do in AZ, just not done yet.
Planing a shakedown soon. This weekend was nice - less than 80*. Even if it warms up to 90* it will be fine - nearest? Same as always, about a five hour drive.
Last car, shakedown run was around 5/31 and ended up being an all night adventure - we lost a Tatum to barrel roll 7X.
Working on getting some interest. Likely make a run next weekend. Looks like 93* is forecast. Not ideal, but not too bad.

I remember that story. Do not want again.....
Did that start as a night adventure or is that just how it ended up?
So is 5 hours Glamis?
-
Started as an afternoon run. We stooped in Yuma for a quick bite - no body ate but me at around 4:30 - 5:00pm. We planed on running 2 - 3 hours back to Yuma for dinner then drive home. Did not leave the sand till 6:00 am.
Glamis is 4.5 - 5.0 hours. I have to go anyway to check on the toy hauler, etc that is in storage there. I will go in AM have other folks join for a late evening run.
-
Sweet car. At least we can still stick together with the subies. Jp is about a mile from my house. I always liked the way his cars looked.

Hey Yummi, do you what gear ratio's are in that 091? Just curious, if you don't know that's ok. 8) 8) 8)
-
He knew it off the top of his head. Me; not so much. Bill at AZ Transaxle built it and he would know.
-
OK, thanks :)

Don't need to try too hard - we will just wait for the chain to break. Catch you, pass you, and be waiting back at camp with a beer for you.
-
What chain? ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

The exception.
But if we use that one for an example, we will ride, camp, work, work, work, ride, camp, work, work, work, ride, camp, and still be back at camp waiting on you? HOPEFULLY that work, work, work bit will be a thing of the past. If all turns out right that is.
Great to see you get the car. Should be a nice upgrade and the subie will be a nice engine for sure!
-
That sounds good. Slowing down a bit in the future?

Even that will be no good after 05/31/10 - dang LaLa and Apple deal.
-
Thats not the "Slow ride" Foghat's refering too. More suspension always a good idea.
So do you have any changes planned for the car. Cant see anyone buying a car and not tinkering with it.

Some. Need to fix an issue with the fuel vent line at the tank. Install radio / intercom / gps. Sooner or later need to paint some panels.
Figure I first need to see what I don't like about it / see what I have. For the summer: kind of depends on the shakedown run.
For the time being, I need to work on selling my deckover trailer and pick up a car hauler. The deck over is cool for the car, but this car is taller than my last car, so, it does not fit in the garage on the trailer. I like simple. Simply back the trailer into the garage when I get home and call it a day.
So the trailer is on Craig's list - guy from Flagstaff - 180 miles - sends me an email - "Bring the trailer up to me and I will take it: Call when you get here." Yea, that does not workout too well for me.
