4 wheel steer
« on: October 16, 2010, 01:17:46 AM »
Been thinking of a new buggy I wanta build. More for hunting and utility buggy. Been throwing the idea around of 4 wheel steer(or how ever you spell it) as it will have solid axles in front and rear. How would ya rig something up like this? How much travel can I expect to get with 930 cv's? Or is there something else out there that has 14" of travel?

Two 4x4 steer axles with coil spring and linkage suspension setup.

Basically a miniaturised version of a monster truck.

+/- 2000 ford F150 4x4  front outer cv.  With or without, probably without, axle has same spline as 930.  Use ford wheel bearing hub, ford outer cv, any lenth 930 axle, and 930 cv for inner.  Probably good for 25 degrees travel limited by inner cv, and the fixed outer cv are good for low 40's. I think you add steering angle and travel angle??? and thats what limits outter cv.  There are a few post on hear using them in rear of buggy.

Actually, the one you want is the 97-03 F150 outer. Same spline as a 930. The 04's and up are the same spline but have the locking hub built in which you do not need or want.........

Not really, as the suspension angle increases the steering angle decreases. I have an Excel file that will calculate out the combined total, but I don't know how to attach it to a post.

If you want it PM Me a regular E-mail adress........

FYI no plunge in those ford cv's.  Using reg 930 on inside will give you some plunge.
