Title: quiteing engine noiseI need to
Post by: Jerry on January 01, 2012, 09:43:19 AM
I need to quite down some engine noise on a buggy many of you helped me put together. The drive train is all from a polaris 700 efi sportsmen. I am using the stock exhaust. The noise is actally engine noise. A picture would probable help you guys come up  with ideas but at the moment i can not find one. I am thinking about using the pad that is in a cars engine hood. I just need to find one. I know about dynamats they stuff is expense and heavy. I would hate to go that route and find that it did not work.  Any ideas would be great?

Ford diesel trucks use some thick mostly flat pad for sound deadening under the hood (or any diesel of the 90's for that matter). Could scrounge the salvage yards, they would probably give it away! Earbuds and a helmet help to quiet them down as well!  ;D

This new R6 in my buggy will rev to 17.5k rpm and the only thing I can hear is the little voice in my head giggling his butt off.

Otherwise ear plugs easiest.
