It can be done with a piston ring used as filler hey?

If you preheat it properly cast iron can be successfully welded with cast filler rod or high nickel rod.

Done with a tig.  Have done many tractor exhaust manifolds for the farmers around here that way.

Oil permiated, mixed with micro carbon will make for a really shitty weld

I took Reidy to mean that if you dont used oil in your 2 stroke the piston will weld itself to cylinder.

Nah I was asking if it could be used as filler ;D I was thinking about the oil too and thought it sounded a bit strange :o Thanks guys, but with the piston ring as filler the guy was saying you could use it with a Henrob 2000. Even still you'd think the oil penetration would pose a problem! :-\
