4043 is softer and flows nicer, that is the reason it is so common as an "all purpose" alum filler.  5356 is more likely to crack.

Picked up a gas lense today and some 1/16" 70S-2 filler.  The 3/32 did work good for some plug welds on my press the other night, but is prolly to big for the stuff I normally do. 

Got to go work on my indoor tan.....

ok, the verdict is......I bought the wrong gas lens. :-[

But the 1/16" filler does flow out better due to not cooling the puddle as much.  I took some pics, but they are all fuzzy.  I can't decide whether I Tig better righty or lefty.  Kinda handy doing either, but I still can't MIG worth a shit lefty. ::)

I forgot to add that I got that nice rainbow thing goin on too.  Tiggin a bushing to the butt end of a new hydraulic cylinder for my trailer.  175 amps :o

 On aluminum I use 5356 for 6000 series,1100 on 3003,and 4043 for repairing castings and items that will be heat treated.
