Sure thats nice if you got MAD fab skills.

For some of us we jsut have to take existing machines and add motors.

The Desert scout came out of a Popular Mechanics DIY encyclopedia.  I have that complete set from the early 70's.  20 volumes of stuff like that.  Tote gote?  Check.  Car top pop up camper?  Uh huh.  Many different boat designs from folding canoe to hydrofoil racer.  Maybe you want to build a compound sliding tool rest for a wood lathe.  Lots of helpful ideas for home and shop.  There is even plans for a mini street car. I have spent countless hours reading these and some projects are better than others.

My wife got mine at a thrift shop for 50 cents a book.  $10 for the set.  Maybe try amazon too.  There are several sets out there from different years.

Ya the old man had aset of them books. Then the next weekend I come home he has them in the wood stove. :j
