yea moves easily.. its not over 1000lbs..   its moves along great, just needs bigger rear sprocket, im just trying to find out if a 60 is best or 72 is best..

from what im finding online, masterfab, primary ratio is 1.725 for the 1993, and 1.744 for the 1998  the 1995 model was not listed but its gotta be one of those or close.

What are the ratios for 5th and 6th gear?

60 x 5th ratio / 6th ratio would be a good starting point.

When going 65 in 5th, is that at the RPM of peak HP? If not, you could probably go a bit lower. Result of above formula X peak power RPM/ RPM it was turning at 65. Then round down in teeth.

I think you need to gear down.  Your getting out of your toque band in 6th.  You need to see 12000 13000 in 5th. to get back to 8000 in 6th.  that's my nickel.

If I believe I cannot do something it makes me incapable of doing it. But when I believe that I can, then I acquire the ability to do it , even if I didn't have it at the beginning.

Somewhere on the net you'll find those ratios.
"There can be no divided allegiance here.  Any man who says he is an American,
but something else also, isn't an American at all.  We have room for but one
flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is
the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a
loyalty to the American people."

He gets us those ratios and we'll accomplish just that for him. Or at least a boatload closer than he is now! dd:

On my old R1 powered car I had a 14 front and a 72 rear with 30" tires. I was still able to exceed 100mph on the gps, only did that a couple times.

Just keep in mind that you will also loose front tooth contact the bigger you go in the rear. The closer the sprockets are to eachother the worse this is. Also keep in mind that one tooth in the front is multiple teeth in the rear. for example a front 14 rear 72 will give you a ratio of 5.14 where a front 13 and rear 67 will give you 5.15.

First thing first is to figure out what top speed you want as everyone had posted before me. Then figure out what sprockets are available and what ones will fit. My 72, if i remember correctly was about 13" in diameter. I couldnt find lower than a 15 tooth front so I had my stock hub machined out of a sprocket and machined the hub out of a 14 tooth from another bike. I then tig welded them together.
Its better to be a smartass than a dumbass!

dont know if this helps but I run a 13 front and a 60 rear with 26" tires with my RC 51.  I use a 74 pin chain and the sprockets are close. To increase tooth contact I use a high quality Idler (15 tooth).

i said before that i can hit approx 65, a little faster would be nice, i was hoping that going bigger sprocket would enable me to use the 6th gear, hoping that would increase my top speed..  i can always go down to 13 on the front

A 67 tooth will give you similar RPMs in 6th as to what you are getting in 5th now.
