I like the idea of a vent/rollover valve being routed as far as possiblr from the driver/passenger as possible.

Does the vent line have to stay above the top of the tank?  Could i install a check valve and then bend up a line to run it to the back of the tnk?  It would only get a few extra inches.  Any other options?

Vent can run wherever you want.

Think of a MX motorcycle. The cap vent runs down the stem neck.

So could i then put the check valve on, use the existing hard line and run the vent via rubber line away from the seats etc?  Long as there are no kinks?

Off road bike shops sell vents that will allow a tank to breath but do not seem to leak any gas when the bike gets tipped over. even with a full tank.

If you got a off road cycle shop in your area go see them maybe?
Your mission isn't to dive feet first into hell, but to make sure its crowded when you get there.

Also it takes a long tube (might look funny?) but if you do not have a fuel stopper check valve you can run a hose from the tank then to all four points of the buggy as in top bottom left and right.

The idea is that you do not know how the buggy will be orientated after a wreck. Even if the fuel flows out the tube it will flow down. But once it reaches a turn that goes clear back past the tank and above the now upside down tank the fuel will not flow up past it.

That make sense to yah?

yerp.  Seems over kill.

Seems like if i put a check valve on, then route the tube away from the seats and below the tank i would be in pretty good shape?  Same "P trap would apply in the event the valve failed.  Cant plan for it all, but that should cover most?

Now - what size fitting is that?  -6, -8 : do i need to measure?

Under the black cap is a hole. If not all you do is drill a 1/16" hole. Those fillers are available vented and unvented. Only difference is the hole is either there or not.

You don't need a parachute to skydive. You only need one to skydive twice.

I have the same cap on my blaster.  I had to take out the little phillips screw, heat up a needle, and make a hole.  I've flipped it over before and don't recall having any fuel leak out, but it wasn't upside down for long.
