It started on a Waffle House napkin
« on: March 28, 2010, 08:30:39 PM »
Gotta start somehwere and this started at Waffle House.
I had to get a few other things worked out first, had to make the shelves so I had space to build the buggy. Had to get a riding mower so I spend less time cuttin grass and more time working on the buggy.
It started on a napkin, then made its way to graph paper and is now being made up in electrical conduit ( pvc ) just to make sure me and everything fits right. - PVC is .16 cents a foot and DOM is 2.50 a foot so its worth going PVC  to check my measurements. if I get stuck, Doug Heim, Bugpac, Grimm Reaper and MANY others can assist if I can afford it.    so with all that  said, here goes.

single seat, 1 1/4 DOM tube @ .095 wall thickness for most of the frame. estimated wieght will be 500 pounds, engine will be an LTZ 400 from a quad ( liquid cooled/ reverse  ;D ) the front arms and shocks from the same quad. IRS rear end with a  1 1/4 - 6 spline center shaft and VW hubs and CV's. I have a few parts for it and will get the rest as I go.
The basic design is SAE mini buggy with a few mods. Feel free to post comments or questions on the build or anything else posted eyes

Most great ideas start on a napkin!  Can't wait to see it take shape.

Good thing you got it on paper, before you used the napkin :c. I like the PVC pipe idea seems like i've heard that before, but i'm gonna give you credit for it for now till someone corrects me eyes

Most of my great ideas come from the :c room.  Need some better drawing paper though.  I've wasted atleast $200 worth of tubeing that didn't "look good" once bent and tacked in place.
You can keep your CHANGE, I'd like to keep my DOLLAR.

I wanted to mention to anyone building from scratch or a drawing, using the electrical conduit to test build first will probably be the best 20 bucks I'll ever spend on this build. ( besides the 20 dollar 5 point harness I got )  I hope to get finished with the mock up this week and have you guys check for needed or wasted tubes.   thanks for looking

PLEASE,hide this from Spec!  ;D ;D ;D There's a mini dozer in the works there. Spec, you still have the wheelhorse?
"There can be no divided allegiance here.  Any man who says he is an American,
but something else also, isn't an American at all.  We have room for but one
flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is
the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a
loyalty to the American people."
Theodore Roosevelt 1907

About 5 good tubes of wasted material will equal the price of Bendtech Pro.

It will save you most of that and more.

Should buy it and put it on a laptop in the lil room on a bench next to yah.

Might need a cushioned seat due to the extra time spent there...

Bendtech is pretty dang cool.

Your mission isn't to dive feet first into hell, but to make sure its crowded when you get there.
