my next door namber is named sandy she wont's to get a Honda oddessy biggie out of her yard if i took every thing out of it chopped it down the middle extended the frame 2 make it a 2 seat er would it work ?
-
yes, it's just steel any thing is possible. should you, no because buy the time your done you could've bought the steel to make a new chassis for less. those oddy frames are made out of c-channel and 2 layers if memory serves me right so to keep it safe you would wind up making a square tube chassis and basically be starting over. it would take a lot less time to just build one in the first place. if you want to just have some fun get the oddy yank the motor and replace it with a 440 sled engine or bigger but I don't think the drive clutch would handle to much more than that.
not trying to shoot it down just save you money and time!

I wasn't trying to be a dick. It just seemed to me that he might be an immigrant and not know the language well yet. Nothing wrong with that. I was just curious ,if so,where he had immigrated from. I must have been wrong.

I didn't find his as hard to read as some of the damn short text hand stuff. Guess i'm getting old.
I would agree with DS, you can only throw so much money at something. If you make one part bigger, better, faster, you'll have to continue doing so to make it somewhat reliable. But what the hell, this hobby seems to be all about how much money you can dump into something.

Yummi how did you know that this is the high dessert ? do you live around here

Your other thread. I talk about my time driving through your place as quick as I could.

Is this a 250 Odyssey or a 350? A 350 is .065 welded seam round tube. There are already spots in the frame where two halves were brought together and welded. There is a sleeve inside and rosette welds.
-
k i will have to look at that i don't know what size i haven't seen it yet she just told me about it its in her shed and she is out of town so i cant grab it.

would u be able 2 put a Honda vtec motor in a edge barracuda

would u be able 2 put a Honda vtec motor in a edge barracuda
I think that would take major changes. Not that it couldn't be done.
The rear of the Cuda is built around a chain drive system for a bike motor. If you used a v-tec with a CVT to a RPM box it may not have to be stretched to much, however the offset (to the right side) of the motor with that setup would be detrimental in a single seater IMO. Not only that but you would be basically starting over with all structural design of the rear of the car.
-
well what if u just made it belt drive and made the rear stick out farther off the buggie and kept the desighn idk but i want to try something like that if u guys didnt know im ony 14 me and my boys have put together dirtbikes, atvs 3 wheelers, go karts we have cuztimized them so much its not even funny the first thang we ever buit from scrach was a 1 seater go kart whith a 450 motor on it whith a hand cluch. we have put together jeeps his dad has a shop and he loves jeeps so we help him alot and he help us alot.

I'm going to put my 2 cents in on this. IMO you would be best advised to look into a Rorty plan set. Look here
http://www.rorty-design.com/content/rorty_design_home.htm (http://www.rorty-design.com/content/rorty_design_home.htm)
Even though that old SOB hates me( the feeling IS mutual) and has his lips firmly planted on MBN's ass ,I think his plans are the most complete and accurate out there. Pick one out,lay out the cash for the plans and save yourself a shitload of trouble and frustration, not to mention money. You will also be assured of a car/buggy that is safe and capable.

Did your plans show a inline 4 automotive motor option or do the plans not go that far? I saw one the other day that had an Ecotec in it so I am confident it is workable. I just didn't know if any of the plans addressed the powerplant location / size.
I thought a little more about the V-tec in a Cuda and the offset weight might not be that bad. Probably wouldn't be much worse than a two seater with only a driver on board.
-
The engine bay in an r16 is plenty big. The plans do not address any specific engine combo tho.
-
The plans get a person to the point of having a well designed, for the most part, rolling chassis.
-
personally i think it would work i think it might weigh down the back end allot more then the street bike motor u guys yous
-
but my home boys dont think it will work and i wont to prove them wrong
