Hi, I'm gizmo. This site came as a recommendation from a member belonging to another forum. He aluded this would be the place I should visit to learn how to build my dream makeshift kart.

What are you looking to build?  On road, off road?  What kind of powerplant?

There is a little of everything here, and lots of ideas.

I'm looking to build a "racing" kart (something vaguely akin to a Tony kart, Arrow kart, Sodi kart, etc... the list goes on).

The trouble (or the beauty) is I was hoping to use an engine from a power washer I never use: a Honda GX390 (13hp). I could probably swap it in for a downgrade (GC190) if need be (maybe the GX390 is too big?).

Anyway, I was hoping to modify that engine, so that it will propel the kart instead of water (I know this means buying parts and assembling them but I'm not afraid to tinker). I just need to know what parts I need to buy and maybe how they go together.

From there, I imagine I can find a used chassis, hopefully cheap (maybe of inferior design quality) so that I can atleast kart when I want to for as long as I want to without spending 20$ for 10 minutes plus an hour to get the kart facility that rents them out.
