Hydraulic clutch help
« on: December 29, 2008, 08:09:18 PM »
Plan "A" was to mount the RC51 donor clutch lever and MC on my gearshift tube.
The reservoir was in the wrong position so that wouldn't work.  So plan "B"... I Ebayed a Nissin lever/MC with remote reservoir. After screwing with that for a couple of hours I've decided that it won't work either. It's just too bulky with the MC attached to the lever. Also the MC piston boot is set in a cup just asking to fill up with sand and ruin a day.
Can I use a cable type clutch lever to a slave cyl?  I have no experience with this type setup. So I guess I'm looking for a quality (compact) cable type lever. and some advice as to how this should be setup.

Im assuming you wish to hand clutch? Otherwise you might foot operate and use similar smaller bore master cyls as the brake units.

Yeah, I want the hand clutch. Not much room for another pedal on the floor.
And I did really like the hand clutch on the 954.
Guess I'll look into what The Edge has.

Yeah, I just looked for it.  From the description it's probably no different that the Nissin that I just bought.

HYDLEVER  Each  Clutch lever, hydraulic type with remote reservoir, suits engines with hydraulic activated clutch. Fits onto gearshift lever, (not required if ordering C-LEVER).  -  $140.91  $155.00

Rick i bought the Clutch lever from Edge and I think it is possible to make the reserivor remote. I never used it and its brand new. If your willing to pay shipping on it Ill send it and you can judge if you want to use it. I can also take pics to give you a better idea.

I like the foot clutch so I did away with the use of the lever. Like I said I never used it and Ill sell it to you at a loss as its just been sitting for close to 2 years here.

Post up some pics Doug, It may work, Hopefully it's different than the Nissin with remote reservoir.
Do you still run separate pedals for front and rear brakes?
I think I'd have trouble with 4 pedals down there.
Maybe if I drove barefoot it would help.

Does it have the MC bore size stamped in the casting?
It's similar to what I have, but a mirror image, which just might make it fit.
Is that the bleeder built into the banjo bolt?
How much?
