I have needed a dump truck for a few years now...
I'm just such a fan of the 67-72's So I've been hard core looking for a mate for my 71...
After the scrap/side swipe fiasco I decided that I had to find one period...Problem was/is no cash
Last week I was looking for dump truck parts and ran across an add for a 69 Pto 4 speed...for a c-note...
I emailed the guy and asked what about the whole truck...I went and looked at it and stuck a deal ;D
I brought this home for 200 bux :P
Hoist works good, tranny shifts smooth, no broken springs, 350's gone...cab and front clip are junk...hood is clean and rust free...
-
I think it's time for some air springs. ;) ;D
-
I love the look of those years of pickups, but I'm a GM man myself. ;D ;D ;D Looks like a good deal. Any more you can't by $hit for $200. 8) 8) 8)

I know you aint gonna but its worth that and more just in scrap.
-
The cab and front clip...are...going for scrap as soon as I get some goodies pulled...Heater core wiper motor etc...
Prolly most of the bed too 8)
-
Between rain storms.......
I got some stuff done ;D
Hopefully a pressure wash today...not the kind that falls out of the sky either gg: gg: gg: gg:
Then it's a roll or 2 of duct tape...a day of eating Black beauty blasting media...
and a couple of coats of implement paint...after I get the box finished up
Man this sounds like alot of work
-
Hard parts done. What's the holdup? Hehehheheeeeee.
-
Duct tape?? Is that what the body will be made of. rofl
-
rofl LMAO LMAO rofl
-
ok red green what is the duct tape for? ;D
-
now is the time to bag it. ;) ;) ;D
-
::) ;D
To wrap all the joints and drums to keep the sand out ;D
I'm too lazy to finish the strip down...well ya it's I'm too lazy...Plus on a time table to finish...gotta haul more iron before all money is gone...no mowing for 2 weeks ==== no pay...and the payment is due
-
Did that truck have a big block or a small block in it? 8) 8) 8)

Saw one for ya today Spec. One ton with a car hauler body. It was still running down the road.
-
We still use a 76 1 ton BB chevy daily delivering.

We still use a 76 1 ton BB chevy daily delivering.
There's nothing wrong with running older BB's. :D :D :D They will pass everything, but a gas station! rofl rofl rofl

We've replaced clutches/pressure plates/flywheels about 20 times and it's got a new generation crate motor in it. Other than that everything is original.
-
It had a 350 in it....GREASY PIG....2 1/2 HOURS WITH THE PRESSURE WASHER...
Franken truck had a 71" LS-7 in it...it got 10 mpg...when I put my foot in it it got around 2 to 4 mpg....
This one is getting the 64 vette 327 out of my 71 cuz I like getting 20 mpg when I drive sanely ;D
I almost have been thinking of plopping the 305 I got in the shed in it that came out of a full size truck...But I just don't think it has the snot I'm accustomed to :P
-
Worst case scenario.....
I whack it up for iron.....
Weeeeeelllllllll..............................
That's what happened
I kept the PTO Tranny
the pump/reservoir assembly
scissor lift and base frame
rear end
Windsheild/back window
powersteering pump and box (mine are leaking and shot)
the rest is scrap due to the swiss cheese I made while blasting :'(
I hauled in the chassis yesterday for $150
The cab is off to the scrap yard today
So the worst case scenario is this......
I got all the spendy parts for nothing... short of the fuel, blasting media and some of my time...
WELL THERE IS THE TRAILER TIRE THAT BLEW HAULING THE SCRAP :-[
