Tough question and only you can really say what you will be happy with.

loyalty to the American people."

I had to deal with this issue when I built my new car. I figured what it would cost to buy and what I would get for my old car. Basically it was cheaper to build a new car out of the parts I had. It cost about 5k to turn my old streetbike powered car to my subie powered car. Also the fitting in the trailer thing. Its very difficult to find a car to fit in a small trailer. Another reason for me to build. Definitely not gunna get what your car is worth. If anything build a new car with what you have already. You couldnt but the big parts new for what you can sell the whole car for. JMO

Yumster,
I think I would think building a new frame / chassis using your components...I haven't driven too many beam cars but don't they all steer heavy?
As a rule of thumb the chassis is the cheap part...All the goodies to make it go is where it gets spendy...and you got all that stuff...off the old car...
I kinda like your old car.
But maybe fix it now and keep your eyes peeled for a deal or an A-arm conversion kit for yours...When your not looking thats when the deals pop up for me

Electric power steering.
Add brakes to your hubs or get hubs that have them.
Paint it.
You can't see the panels from the drivers seat ;)
I think it looks great btw.

I was going through the same thing this last winter, had a busa on the shelf not in anything so I was going to build a new car and put my car up for sell. I did not even get one bit in it so I cut the hole back off the car and stared over. Now I wish I would have just made a hold new frame and used my old parts. In all it turned out OK I got the busa for $1600 and sold my R-1 for $1900. Then drop the $300. Into tubing so it was only my time not too much money

Sure I have an opinion but it's YOUR car! LOL!!!! But if it was me I'd likely contact Tut at MBN and get him to offer his suggestions HERE about what he feels makes a good beam car. Might not have to do much at all to make you happy with the car you have.Otherwise I suggest just starting from scratch. I DON'T mean buy someone elses chassis though.IMO that just invites compromise into the new car and you won't be happy with it either. There's my OPINION.Happy now? ;D ;D ;D

Already talking to Tut.  He may be too busy; but taking the car to him is an option......
