I've had a small coolant leak into a cylinder in the second hand Nascar engine. It will leak about a cup over 5 months and then past the rings to the pan. Oil never milks up. Weird . I think the water just sits below the pan suction fittings since there is about 3/16" step down into pan. Oil heats up and then i get steam from the dry sump reservoir vent till it all boils out of pan.
Back to your issue. Yes seals can hold under pressure or vac but leak in the absence of either.

Some updates
Been battle a sync loss of Ms3 comp setup. Affecting timing and not really sure to what effect.
Went back to kawa ing coils, pu a ing box from diy autotune for the dumb coils
Also some 10k resistors. One for the crank + inline and one for the cam + inline. I for all over on the need to wire in series parallel. Trial n error. It’s solid now.
Few other updates, fuel tank and radiator both leaking. Both require welding, welder req dedicated 20 amp plug. All this done and now the list of “while you’re at it” has began.
Did I mention hot/humid SC coast? Garage is unfinished, I need to get Sheetrock up insulation in attack so ac can even think about helping.

Ac in the garage in the summer is a must.

Got everything buttoned up. Just some computer work to dial it in.
Few samples pics. It’s been a full makeover
Shadow Dash on tablet for most gauges and data logging. And switch panel controls for everything else. Happy camper.
