I did some tail light cut outs last night on the drag mode...instant on is nice ....I'm liking this cutter more every day...But we will know after this week end when I push it hard...
So what's the verdict? I like the price.

I got the mowers cut up and I whacked my 1st gasifer... I'm really liking it, with the drag tip and the right angle I can gouge out welds really easily...I'm still on my 1st set of consumables too...effen TD ate consumables like they were free cutting on rusty/junk stuff,
This one doesnt seem to care, I figured out how to control the arc on this one it is really easy once you get the arc lit I can pull back about an 1/8 or you can just drag it, one more thing i'll say when dragging if there is shit behind the steel, you don't eat the molten steel like you do maintaining an arc...

I'm not sure what you are huh,ing here.
I have had my welding suplier send me off brand consumables for my plasma cutter. The electrodes were different The thermal dynamics electrodes have little spiral ridges at the end the generics don't.
My relativly small plasma puts out three hundred volts at thirty amps at the business end that will kill you.
If my entire post seems out of pace well I read the name of the thread and you guys were somewhere else when I got here.
You can also make some repetitive parts by cutting a pattern out of a piece of aluminum a amount smaller than the part you need as determined by the offset of the cup to the cutting point.

I'm a total plasma noob.I 'm curious about what the connection is between generic consumables and safety.Maybe I read your post wrong. I dunno.

 There is no connection.
Generic consumables do not work as good.

If you are cutting a piece off and holding it and another part of your body is touching the material that is grounded your body is going to complete the circuit.
 Not good.

I use the Miller Spectrum 2050 and cuts through anything I put in front of it (max cut 1"). I am very pleased with its performance.  I use it in my CNC plasma table and on 3/16" plate I can cut almost 120 inches per minute.  Your machine sounds like it cuts pretty good so if the price was right then you got a deal.
