Title: new lathe
Post by: Garagebuilt on February 17, 2021, 05:24:55 AM: My Harbor Freight mini lathe finally gave up on me so I bought a new Grizzly G0602. I love the new lathe but I'm already considering upgrading it to variable speed.

Post by: fabr on February 17, 2021, 08:10:07 AM: I've had an Enco 11x24 lathe for almost 40 years now and have used the hell out of it. I bet you'll get the same results from the Grizzly. Are they as good as more expensive stuff,no,but they get the job done 99% of the time for us DIY guys.

Currently building my 10 year old daughter a buggy with a duromax 18hp engine. And Second buggy is in the design/gathering
Parts phase. Hope to have it built by mid to late fall.

Yes it works well for what we do. Although I’m not a fan of changing belts to change speed. Guess I was spoiled with the variable speed Lathe’s.

Yes, an old flat belt tied together with leather laces. Works great but I can't cut threads with it.
