and look where im posting it.. I dont think a bike engine will be sufficient in this build...
heres some pictures... guess what im building.
-
An oil filter relocation bracket/bellhousing spacer.
-
looks like a 3800 v-6 adaptor but hard to tell cause that plate don't look like one for a v-6. ok we give up what are you doing? putting a ford engine in the caddy for more power? !! ;D
-
sorta on the right track.
figured its time to part out my falling apart rusted beyond repair nova... and put the 355 i built for it, to good use..... like into a great handling, low, wide, "sports" car.......
the adapter is to mount a sbc to a 60degree v-6 transmission....
-
Sounds like it will be fun until that trans says BYE, BYE. :'( :'( :'(
-
yea i know lol.. theres always a way to make things work..
-
WTF You put the rat rod on the back burner. Sound like me another iron in fire and seem to never get past 95% on any. drowning drowning

-
no adhd... buggy is done to a point that its drivable and does what i need. i need a break from working on it and clean up some of my irons in the fire, such as consolidating two cars. lol
-
I'm thinking a 355 in a fiero is in order here
-
Gonna need a BIG shoehorn.
-
I always wanted a 914-8. A Feiro 8 might not be a bad call

actually wes, there tons of room for a small block... now a shoe horn and angle grinder is needed for the monster headed northstar engine... those things ar big.
-

Really? I never would have guessed. How will the header clearance be?
-
inches of clearance on the tight side.. the major clearance issue is the passenger side frame rail becuase its real close, even if using a single belt pulley/balancer combo all in one deal.
-
cool. Are there ready made headers for it available?
-
nope.. well most guys that dont make their own headers, use shorty sanderson block huggers.. BUT.. it seems they all complain of the centers rotting out.. seems like the only for sure deal is to keep using my cast iron ramhorm manifolds that i needed to use with the nova. but well see how it goes.. maybe a set of quality stainless headers will be in order.

LOL!!! That belongs at MBN.
-
welp my anxiousness got the best of me and i purchased a 97000 mile 2000 cavalier tranny from ebay, from a reputable seller and it comes with a warranty. 97000 is the lowest mile one i could find.. 300$ shipped..
some pics of my engine mount and adapter plate i got on monday.
-
Sounds like a cool project to me.
-
i know its not buggy related, but ive been here for a while and wanted to you guys to know what i was currently under taking and such.. ill still update my buggy build log through out doing stuff to it.
btw--work did pick up a little. I told my boss he's gonna have to pay a little more(we previously had major pay cuts), or Im gonna have to find a different job, because i gotta make enough to survive.. he boosted my commission on stuff a bit, so it helped out alot and im very grateful. its not extra money out of his pocket, because i only get paid the commission if hes making it also.. so all worked out well.
-
It doesn't have to be buggy related. All(nearly all at least) builds are welcome.
-
got my trans from ebay..
not sure about the packaging.... lol.. old seat foams, no support in bottom of box...
-
you can kill this thread, project is stopped. lost my shop space and ability to work on anything, so this project is a non completable task, and nowhere to store it.
-
THAT SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!
