New Enclosed.
« on: August 31, 2011, 07:32:39 PM »
While back I was looking for an enclosed trailer.  Well, that did not go well, so I ordered a bare bones one.  "Look" 20' semi V nose in charcoal to match the truck.  Got the call it is done, so now I have a new project for the weekend.

Questions:  While it is new should I finish the floor? If so with what?  Was thinking about a full height steel cabinet from Home Depot or Lowe's.  Any suggestions to make it more user friendly?  I have fuel can racks already, but the rest is open to suggestions.

Will have car in back and two 70's in front.

Thanks in advance.

Awning ?
Wiring ?
Floor, if plywood, vinyl or just seal the wood for easy cleaning.
Side by side fridge w/ice & water in door,  ;D
Nice mattress, for play, and for when you need a nap.

1. Seal the floor. I would prime and paint with a garage floor style paint. I used Rustoelm Floor paint with the chips and sand in it for traction. Not the epoxy as I was advised against it at the store since I was on wood. DS did his in vinyl, he parked his car on rugs cause the tires left marks. I have since put diamond plate down where the tires of my rail run cause they left marks in the paint.

2. POWER, I did 50amp 220 (over kill). Figure one 15 amp line for ac/heat in the roof. Put a couple outlets on the out side. Also put tons of outlets on the inside. Even put a few in the cabinets as you can put a microwave up there.

3. Insulate the ceiling at the very least, I did all but the floor and have considered doing that.

4. Cabinets up top around the trailer to keep floor space open.

5. Little refrigerator, no need for coolers are at least fewer.

6. TV with a play station. Give you games and movies in case of rain or kids.

7. Awning the bigger the better. I would say a 19 footer would work on your trailer. They measure center of arm to arm.

8. Drop down table / bench from wall. Open floor for loading while traveling. Quick set up when eating etc.

9. On wall chair rack.

and the last on our top ten list

10. A TOILET! This way DS can come visit.  ;D

What did that set you back?

I would like to mention that I have 2 sheets of 4'X10' diamond plate that I would sell for $80 a sheet. I could bring them down to LS in October. It is thin stuff, but good for skin on the floor.

it's the same stuff things like truck tool boxes are made from. Good stuff for floors and such.

DS did you not read the end of my first post!

I have not missed having one in mine! I like doing my buisness and being done with it. Not have to go dump it again! I would like a shower. IMO at 20ft that would take up to much floor space.

What did that set you back?

Just a touch over 6k.   Used ones are at $5,000 - $5,500 on the ask, so, I opted for new.

Nice trailer.  I am interested as I want to make some changes to my trailer down the road.  Been looking for the  bed that mounts with tracks on the side and slides up to store.  No such luck.
You smell that?
