Title: Little Help.
Post by: Theworm on April 14, 2010, 07:32:34 AM
Hello, my name's Dylan I just signed up on the forum today. I'm interested in building a mini buggy for off-road trails. I have been looking around and found a few decent gsxr 600 engine's witch I think I will be putting in this. I'm looking for some cheap or possibly even free plan's for this build. Also if anyone could post some good sites to buy tubing and parts from it would be very well appreciated.

I have about $4000 to spend on this project.

I'm 16 year's old this is my first build so I don't need anything TOO expensive. I will also be getting some help on this build from someone with more experience then myself.

Welcome worm. I'm sure that there will be opinions given.Free plans are hard to come by that are worth anything. Too many details are omitted. If I were you I would look into plans by Rorty. They are a bit pricey at first thought but the detail in them is worth every penny they cost. All of the parts needed are in CAD form so they are easy to have waterjet cut. VERY important.

The Rorty R11 Stiletto II looks like a nice build. Would this be good for a first time build?

Best Regards, Dylan.

Welcome Worm ;D
What kinda riding you plan on doing?
If it's tight trails you might want to consider a sled powered buggy

Some trials might be a little tight.. What size of sled engine would pull this type of machine? Need something that's going to push me along quite well . I don't tend on stopping for anyone.  :police: :police: :police:

I remember strarting that idea. I gave the car i was going to use to DS's daughter. May have to go to a smaller scale. I have some king pin spindles but need some cheap spindle mount wheels.
