Tear down and paint!

Well guys, after several successfull runs, I decided to tear it down and make it purdy..

Stack o parts.



I machined some delrin bushings because the poly ones flexed too much....lesson learned.


Drivetrain labled and dis assembled


the gearbox parts parts with the shiny stuff!  Sparkle red.


7 hours of tearing it apart...


The new radiator location


And now for some silver!


Before blasting, I added some dimple died panels..


Powder going on


ooohhh, sparlky


after the first bake.


coming out of the oven after the clear.


AND parts finding their way on!




New delrin bushings!


Well, I should have the gearbox in later today..  thanks for looking!

Thanks guys!  Stuff is going back together nice and tight.  I got the master cylinders, petals, radiato,r gerabox, shifter, shifter cables, rear shocks, limit straps, and over flows back in...







I should have the trailing arms back in tomorrow night....  Stay tuned.

We have updates!!

Got the stainless firewall in, with insulation., motor in, exhaust back in, plumbed, and brakes bled!!






And to top it all off, here is a rendering of the final product!!
 :o :o


I want to take out in the snow so bad right now!!!!!!

You should see my left arm from polishing rofl rofl rofl..

I had almost a whole sheet of that left over from another build.  The guy I built a truck for wanted a mirrior stainless firewall, so he had to buy the smallest sheet we could get...5'X10'.  We used 20"x52" of the sheet, and I got to keep the drop!  My next build, a single seat will have the body panels mirrior stainless... :o  OOOPS, did I say that out loud!??!  This car will prolly be in the for sale section soon.  I just want to build a screaming fast single seater....  I might have to get a hold of Doug Heim?!

Very nice job, its all in the details and til you've done it you've got no idea how long that little crap takes.  I was really diggin the "graphics by kids" sides.   

And screaming fast can be had with a 2 seater.  Remember riding a buggy is a lot like sex, ok by yourself in a pinch but much more fun with someone along for the ride.   ;D rofl rofl ;D
