two per side ya mean? could just use the triple trees, leave em connected...  might as well be the frankenstein build in stead of built from scratch....

VDC,
I was in a hurry and ran the bike fork info into the maybe look into the dual shock set up I run on the 750's...Both are a viable solution to your delema and both will work and work pretty well It just takes some dialing in...Don't let this get your panties in a bunch ;D It's all simplecompex geometry

Hey VDC4, I would try Ebay. Look for Yamaha blaster or banshee shocks. You can usually get a pair of '03 or new stock ones for less than $50. Also look for Honda's with the rezzies.(450r) They are compression and rebound adjustable and can be found for less than $75 a pair. Not drunk yet so that is what I would recommend for a budget shock purchase. ;D

Blaster  shocks are too light...Valving and sprung, Banshee shocks are closer...but you could double them up and cut down the spings to get you into the ball park...
MANY OF THE SNOBS that lurk here are going to be needing to post in the SNIVELING SNIVELERS thread but it is do-able...I do it all the time... no cash but wanna go riding, thats what the 460's were all about...(in the beginning)

Personally I cant see why not, as long as the spring rates and the shock valving are in the ballpark.

One potential problem though, the inner shocks are upside down, IF they are older style shocks they will be what we call here in Oz twin, a tube style and the foot valve will now be up top and out of the oil. Shock she no work... turn em up the other way (unless thats how they come off the bike) and all will be ok.

A quick p.s. you have calculated the travels and they match?

It won't be hard to bend up a hoop, and change the mounts on the A-arm to do it,
It's pretty straight foreward wen you look at the pix 8)

+1

They will stop as the width of the current triangle becomes wider (think splaying tent poles)   They both need to be on the same plane....

Maybe you can turn the lower mounts 90* then add / widen the top mounts?   If they are not the same length, then address that with a stepped mount to keep them on the same plane.

We need one of the smart guys to chime in....

they won't bind. One set is just more progressive than the other.
It looks like outer ones may even be regressive at some point.

The only thing I can add at this junction is it "LOOKS" like the black shock has more travel. (Hard to see but it appears it might) so the longer travel shock should be on the outside holes as they will move farther.

UNLESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the shorter shock is the travel limiter and its length is carefulley figured to do so in the holes its in so the CV's do not overtravel/chassis bottoms out etc.
Your mission isn't to dive feet first into hell, but to make sure its crowded when you get there.
