Heya
I'm a second year student of mechanical engineering..building baja vehicle as a college project..
i'm using lombardini lga340 for power..just gettin started with rollcage and suspension design..jumping on to any resource available..not many people doing this here

Welcome to the site!  The guys here are pretty well versed in custom fabrication, and there are some excellent machinists and builders here..  They helped me quite a bit!

Lombardini wow how do you pronounce that?   Sounds like this project is going to be way more expensive then-well anyway welcome to the site.  We will try to follow along as well as possible.  Post lots of pictures.

There is a sand car with a BMW 12 cyl twin turbo out and about. 

 

Bout as close as we will likely see to the lambo rail.

began modelling in solid works..can you guys suggest some books or info for rollcage design?..read a lil bit about 4,6,8 point rollcages

way more expensive..around how much you think?
i aleady have the engine, and for fabrication i'm allowed to use the university workshop..if that's what u mean

Welcome to the site!  Interesting choice of engine... All of the SAE Baja cars I've seen a competition had to use a Briggs and Stratton 10HP.  Where are you studying ME?

The BMW car came up for sale today - on GD - 30k and lots of pictures.  twin turbo, mid engine AG.

Nope, the ag he wants is a 2.0 subie.  15k  - clean car for 15k - real clean. 

The BMW 12 is 30k (Stupid cheap)   Just weird it popped back up.
