Compact tractors
« on: December 18, 2009, 12:35:14 PM »
My Minni poppped the Onan...not much notice of it's intent to expire...about 15 seconds...littl puff of smoke outta 1 pipe...and poof kaboom in the middle of the streetwith a box on it...Hydrostat.hydrolic steeing dead so I rammed it sideways with the s-10 and in the shop it sits...I got a line on a new motor for it...But this morning I discovered that the frame is breaking in 3 places and the hyd steering sector is about ready to get torn off AGAIN
so I went to the power/lawn shop and looked at Kubota 4wd sub compacts...I find out the BX series won't lift any more than my minni But the B series will lift over 900 pounds
Any body have a Kubota or any stories good or bad they want to tell?

I have a Kubota B7610 with a LA352 front end loader. I've never measured what it can lift, but it easily lifts the back wheels off the ground before the hydraulics quit. I keep a box blade on it to help. My only complaint would be that it only lifts to about 5 1/2' with the bucket level.

Thanks Vidio
That's all the higher I need to lift, that's 3 boxes tall for me

I'm just choking on putting out 14 grand for a new one...
But I really can't justify chasing the breakage on the minni any longer
If It was summer and I didn't need it every single day, I'd prolly rebuild it...But it's winter and humping firewood sux balls

Have ya considered a used skid steer loader?  Might be a little rough on ya,  but you use the minni for lifting and pushin snow.  A skid loader does both of those well and used ones can be found for 2k-3k in the size you'd need.

yeah I wasn't keen on shelling out that kind of money either, but I had borrowed an older Tractor to mow around here and spent more time keeping it running that mowing. That's all it took for me. I tossed the plan of buying used. I've never looked back. I needed the PTO and 3 point hitch, so a Tractor over a skid steer was a no brainer for me.

me too
I had a small bobcat...but with as much stuff as I move I'd have no lawn...
Plus I have a 4' tiller/backblade and forl attachment that will fit this tractor already ;D
