New shocks fitted
« on: August 13, 2009, 04:12:12 PM »
Well my buggy is finally up and running again, after fitting my new front and rear shocks, a respray and new clutch.

Took her for a quick spin and was quite happy!!! She is a bit bouncy over humps. Is it too much oil or are the pressures in the shocks too high? She definitely is still too high (as can be seen from the pics), so I will still deflate the shocks a bit. Still need to fit the panels as well.

Here are some pics:

Dune 7 at the back, the highest dune in the world.

I am no shock expert, but I would reduce the pressure until you get the ride heigth where you want it, then start changing the oil level to address bottoming and rebound issues.  You may have to be more specific than bouncy to get specific input from the shock guys.

this pretty much says it all, reduce pressure and add oil up to 30cc's unless you have the 14" or 16" stroke shock then you can go to 40cc's and if that don't work then re-valve.
