Title: Wanted/someone doing Hydrographics
Post by: fastcorvairs on October 02, 2016, 06:02:16 AM
All are gone in the Wichita area.  All that are left only do guns.  I have a pile of parts that I am looking to get hydro coated while I have the car torn down.  Would feel better sending it to tim-buck-two if I had a familiar contact to use as a go between.  Any one know of any in there area?

didn't know that's what they called it but have seen a few parts that have been done. it is really a cool process and the finish is damn nice too.

Wanting to do the intake in a carbon-fiber and all the intercooler and water tubes in a yellow snake skin that i have seen.   Think it will look bad a$$ like a big snake crawling through the engine compartment.

Longest piece would be under three feet. Only about   20 inch's x 12 inches and eight deep on the intake.

Why not do it yourself? A guy with your skills should be able to handle it.

don't tempt me. I found a used tank on Amazon for 800$ and can buy any dip kit for 20 bucks.

Update.

Got a line on a company just north of me in a little town called Valley Center.  I have and ant that lives there. Company called Valley Blue Coatings.  Just talked to the owner and he can handle anything up to eight feet long and four feet wide.  Said he could do the carbon fiber and the snake skin like I want.   jj:

Going to be bad a$$ looking or lame.  Just have to wait until it's all put back to gather. All the parts go in next Wednesday so should have pictures buy next Thursday or Friday.

I was hoping I could just have all my body parts dipped. Roof will be too big tho. Guess I need to look some more. You have any idea if film is even available wider than 4 foot?

You going to have a rack of any sort on the roof? If so bed liner makes perfect sense.  Still do panels graphic but roof could be totally different for a lot of reasons all of which make sense.

I have given thought to doing the roof different from body panels. The primer surfacer I use puts a very nice textured surface that could be done with a matte finish topcoat that would mimic a cars soft top perfectly.  Lots of time to consider options.
