The jealousy is getting deep now!

It is perfectly fine that you wish to support a company that had a federal bailout, circumvented most bankruptcy laws via an obscure dealer in New York, shafted thousands on debt, defaulted on many retirement accounts of wholly owned subsidiaries, redesigned parts without admitting fault in various deaths, and will be bankrupt again in a few years.
All good stuff. I applaud your ability to ignore all of that.
-
remember the pinto???
-
Yes, that was the same time as the Corvair? No doubt both riding on Firestone 721's.
Just jerking your chain. None are saints, some less so than others. But what do I know? I have enjoyed the Rams.
-
Dodge is appropriate, it means the company dodges most warranty issues.

Sergio is determined to kill them all. Dart and 200 killed end of this year. Have a 2015 200s. 100k in 18 mos. Zero issues. Guess Dodge and Chrysler will only have the Charger / 300 / Challenger next year? What a ten year old platform? Laughable.

Yes I drive a Volvo but own 4 Freightliners. I will be switching over to one by the end of next year to avoid a new set of electronic log laws.

Cars and trucks now capture huge amounts of data. For truckers that means set against duty hours. So, paperless logs can not manipulated. Guys that run hard and may exceed their duty hours will be hurt. Less miles equals less money.
Sooner or later the data a car captures will be routed to various agencies. Imagine a speeding ticket issued by your car? My work car send me emails on various stats. You know it is all captured. Time of day, speed, throttle position, everything. Big brother will be your co pilot.
-
Well,I just assumed DW was always running 100% legal........................................
-
He does. He just does not like computers. He also likes good fuel mileage. 55 mph for 1 hour is less gross than 65 for 1 hour. Guys will have to push harder to make miles instead of driving 6 minutes over. It is a numbers game and paperless constricts a variable. Guys will be running much harder,at a higher cost per mile, to stay in confines of duty time.
DW still no likey computers though.
-
Yea the new EOBR (electronic on board recorders) are going to hurt lots of guys. Wes, I do run legal for the most part. I only run about 400 miles a day but trying to fit that in a 14 day is tough at best, but I'll be damned if I am going to stop my truck if I'm 10 miles from my destination or drive when I'm sleepy because the computer says so.
-
I understand. We had some of the drivers coming to us having to stop less than 2 miles from us due to hours of service rules before they could continue when this all came about. Pure BS for sure. Really screwed up a lot of guys daily lives.

I think he likes freightliner.........................

Vehicles and trucks currently catch gigantic measures of information. For truckers that implies set against obligation hours. In this way, paperless logs can not controlled. Folks that run hard and may surpass their obligation hours will be harmed. Less miles rises to less cash.
-
I stop at a lot of truck stops on my way from Yuma to Kansas and back. Fueling at the truck pumps I'm Seeing more and more signs on the side of trucks stating this truck has paperless electronic log's. Sucks for sure for the drivers. But, in the same breath, I am following some a hole trucker that is swerving from road to ditch and when I do pass his head is hung so low and his eyes are half closed I wonder just how much he has cooked his books, praying that I get around before he servers my way.
-
i agree fast. at the same time if they lifted the speed limiter on the trucks they could make more miles per day and that may wash in the end. it is sort of a double edge sword.
