Title: Car trailer acc.
Post by: Wyattboche on August 25, 2013, 07:23:06 AM
Bought a 20' car trailer yesterday. Been thinking about acc. to put on it. Want a locking box up front to put straps in and possibly the battery for a winch. What size winch would a guy need? Also throwing the idea of a compressor with a tank.

If just loading a buggy or small car onto trailer an ATV style winch of around 3K pounds rolling capacity will work fine. IMO though, stay away from the cheap import stuff like HF and such. It costs a bit more but I've always used the Dayton ones from Grainger. Same as the superwinch and warn cheap stuff. Used the hell out of them for years and years with never an issue. You WILL have issues with the cheapo ones like HF and others sell.  Name brand -OK,no name brand=junk.
