$25K including all Jesel valvetrain and front mount distributor,4 stage dry sump,AFR heads,GM CNC iron block, crower crank, sheetmetal intake, dual 830 carbs, etc.,etc., etc.......... Normally aspirated pushed the dragster to consistent 7.10's@180 mph. Best of 7.00. I REALLY wish I could claim to have run 6's with a N/A engine. But ,alas, this sand car bug BS bit me............................

Dont really have a goal in mind yet. If this motor truely makes 500hp and I transbrake it I should be somewhere in the mid to low 11s. I would like to hit closer to high 9s low 10s down the road. But this motor will give me some parts to use if I go with a twin turbo small block in the future.

Not trying to rain on your parade but that motor most likely isn't going to make 500 ponies. Not saying it's not a good motor,as I have no direct knowledge. What's the car weigh? 2800-3000?

Im shure it doesnt make 500hp. Even with some more compression, a bigger cam, and complete port job would be tuff to make 500 with this package. I always under rate my stuff. I hate the guys at the car shows that think they are making an extra 50 hp from their k&n filter and 75 more from their headers. I would rather claim 300hp and beat a guy down the track claiming 500hp.

Funny story about claiming to have more inches than what you really have..... There was a local car show that was having a dyno pull contest and a gentelman refused to be humble and paid for a bunch of pulls to prove himself. He had a 671 blown 383 hemi with plates attached to the valve covers that said "785 hp". His first pull put somewhere around 330 to the ground. He scrambled to the parts store for plugs, pulled the air filter, dumped a bunch of race fuel in, and who knows what else. All said and done he ended up around 365. I would have been SOOOO embarASSed. When he started his pulls a whole crowd followed him to dyno cause he was supposed to be the "BIG" pull at the show. :'(

Oh hell, you need to consider running some big block.

What do you suppose I'm putting in the v-8 buggy? I have 2 of these 430+ SBC's . Other one is a rodeck/splayed valve Brodix.

I agree but just want more power for now. I do have a good buddy who has a twin turbo 396 sbc who is putting over 700 to the tires in a el camino. And yes its on a dyno. Just had to state that after my story

A 700hp small block would make that thing move ok.
