Title: 09 SR2 assembly log...
Post by: Yoshi on May 06, 2009, 01:27:14 PM
Just got this back from the powdercoater, figured i'd do a log on it for anyone interested, hoping to have it completed in the next few weeks.

Frame is Tuxedo black

Sides, roof, hood, wing are all orange

Front inner fenders, all motor compartment paneling, gas tanks, beadlocks, firewall and hubs are all semi gloss black.

Having a turbo motor built right now putting out about 440hp, should be ready for pickup at the end of the week...

Anyway, just set the panels on for the pics, gonna start the wiring this afternoon.....

Do you speculate the Jeffco will withstand 440 hp?

I've been waiting on the motor for quite a while, I stopped by his shop today and snapped a few pics, looks like it's getting close, but I need to get it back so I can finish up the rail. I've done as much as I can minus the brake lines and the lights for the roof, which haven't arrived yet......

Anyway, here's some progress pics........

You gunna run an intercooler?

Edit -  For boost levels to achieve 450 horse, I should ask "WHERE" is your  intercooler  ;) . Maybe going meth injection instead??

no updates yet, should be picking up the motor in the next few days soon as it's done on the dyno.  Customer didn't want to go with an inter cooler, but may add one later.  It will be the 300hp setting 99 percent of the time, the higher hp is for occasional racing.....

Finally got the motor on the dyno, it's running pretty rich and still needs some adjusting, and he couldn't go over 9k rpm cause the tire kept spinning, but out of 5 pulls, the motor hit 274.4 hp and 169.14 foot pounds of torque at 13 pounds of boost. We should be closer to 300hp at this boost, so well see what he gets tomorrow after some more adjusting.  I talked to Scott and he said we could run 20 to 25 pounds of boost if we want and it would be fine, but I think i'll restrict it around 18/20, and there will be a switch to go from each one.  The high hp setting will be for occasional racing, it will be on the low setting 99 percent of the time...

Not as high a dyno on this one, but it shows the rpm it's been producing the power at....
