I can confirm that Jerry is staying at Idaho Dunes RV. Along with Mark Ekes from Illinois (Jerry's friend who lives in Yuma half the year).
Brian J and Craig S will also be staying in Egin (Newton and Hillsboro friends).

This is going to be one heck of a trip!

Dammit I wish I could make this one! But, family does come first and I have my elders to help along to their next "home" arrangements. Yall better help me over a mountain sized dune at full boost, 6th gear pinned @ 12000 rpm final send if/when I fully loose all my marbles. I don't think I will accept the other alternatives.

Does anyone know if they still have 110 fuel available up there.  It used to be a self serv place?

No idea. I'm taking at least 55 gals and a full 27 gallon tank e85 at least. Maybe more. My car is thirsty.

Instead of putting new engine in buggy before the trip I decided to finally remodel the toter. Almost done and is much nicer . I looked back and it has been at least 4 years since it made a trip. 5 more years and it gets an antique tag!

I believe Conrad & Bischoff have 110 at the pump in Idaho Falls, ID. They do have pump e85.

I confirmed today with Conrad & Bischoff in Idaho Falls, ID. They sell 110 at the pump for $8.26/gal. Pump e85 is $3.79/gal. Both pumps are self sevv 24/7

I just can't bring myself to use pump 85. I buy anhydrous 98 and cut to 85. Costs more but for what these engines cost me I feel safer. These last 2 drums 98 I just bought cost me quite a bit more than 6 months ago though. Was not too happy about that.

Info tidbit: anhydrous e98 is actually 97.5% ethanol/.05% water/2% denaturant of some kind to make it undrinkable. .05% water is as low as is commercially available. WTF knows how much water is in pump 85? Nobody but it can be substantial and that is the root cause of corrosion issues.  I've been using alky for maybe 10 years now and ,knock wood,never had any issue.

Tidbit #2:  there is a way to remove the denaturant from it and end up with about 130 proof corn whisky................. :m

Out of curiosity, have either of them tested the fuel? I'm curious what their blend truly is. I run a flex fuel sensor that adjusts for the blend but , as we know, water reads as alcohol to those sensors. Now, I posted a calculator, somewhere on dts, of the octane reading at the different blend rates. I can run as light as 55% safely. I belive thats still 100 octane.

Fabr, the barrels of anhydrous e98 are hands down best for long term and accuracy.  No doubt about that and you get exactly what one wants/needs. In my case, we have 300 to 400 state vehicles running on ethy. 3 local stations they fill up at. Those stations tested once a month and have to maintain a blend of 81% or higher. So far that has been consistent for summer and fall months. Winter and spring they blend lighter for cold weather.

Thats why I don't buy the drums. 2 of the lincoln stations are on my way home so super convenient for myself plus 2 of the stations must get there's from the revenue neb plant. They have a hint of syrup smell to them.

Back on topic....................the damn forecast is now calling for 95 degree hell for Mon/Tues/Wed.  WTH!!!!!! I was looking forward to the forecasted mid 80's. The way it's going it will end up being all 5 days  that way.

Our first trip we saw a few 97* days. In the breeze wasnt bad  because there was next to no humidity.  We went wading in egin lake to.

The weather will be better than Kansas..... 

What day is everyone leaving from home?  I will be heading out on Saturday August 3rd around 7:00am taking the same route I've taken in the past. This route seems to be decent, avoiding the rough beat up I70 and the Teton Pass/Mountains. Plan to make it to Rock Springs, WY for the night.
