Title: Hayabusa - Won't start ?
Post by: Lance-W on August 22, 2009, 02:50:42 PM
OK,  We've got it all wired.

It has the resistor in the kick stand circuit.
It's still running the factory tip over sensor.
I have no intake air sensor.....
It cranks but there's no spark.
When you turn the key to "on" it sends a tiny little spike (~2volts) of electricity to the fuel pump but no constant current. The fuel pump runs if you hot wire it.

Anybody have any ideas?

It's a first gen Busa.  2005

Fuel pump circuit is working.  Just the computer is not turning it on.
The injectors seem to be not firing.  When I "vent" the fuel line it has pressure which leads me to believe the injectors aren't firing and relieving the pressure.
The coil packs have power.

Also I used basically used the entire wiring harness up to and including the ignition switch.  What are the MUST HAVES for the computer to want to run?

Still need help.  Still doesn't run.

No resistor in the side stand switch? isn't it just bridged?
Pull the TOP apart and tap it up so it doesn't ever create an issue.
It must have the ignition barrel, are you running that?
If not, you need to install a resistor inline somewhere, Search for it, there's heaps of into floating around.
Cheers

TOP?

Ignition barrel?  You mean the factory ignition switch?  Yes it has that.

Side stand - yes I just bypassed the resisitor I put in it.  So basically it's connected/bridged hard.

Where to start ? i just read this. Gotta hit the sack soon but is the tip over switch upright? Either remove it and put a resistor in it's place or open it and silicone the ring in it in the center of it's travel. There are 2 plugs in the wiring harness that are alike. Right now I don't remember what they are  but you may have them reversed also.  Easy to get them wrong.I think they are the water temp and IAP? Maybe, maybe not. ??? Several other things but check those first.

Those two plugs are correct. Just verified.
Tip over sensor is correctly oriented.

Just watch the colors and you'll be fine.  The plugs on my harness and engine are not interchangeable.  They physically won't interchange.
