Title: WTB AC550 Drive clutch/puller bolt.
Post by: Buggybaz on March 17, 2011, 06:21:15 AM
G'Day you blokes.
Anyone have a puller bolt for an Arctic Cat 550,circa 90's? Round,6 bolt cover.
Also need a complete drive clutch as spare, and starter ring gear.

Looks like a Comet 102C puller would probably work.

I ended up making one,I musta made a mistake because it worked flawlessly! Less than 10 secs off.
7/8" x 14 x 2" long HT bolt,$3.50,+ a long 1/2" HT bolt I found in my manshed,$0
I cut the bolt head off, then rounded/domed it.
Then ground away all the threaded portion to about 3/8" to insert into the crank end, also rounded off.
Then counterdrilled the end of the 7/8 bolt to take/locate the dome end of the pusher bolt.
Bit of grease on all the threads and domed ends to limit the friction and BAM!

Yes so true.
But also living in the most isolated capital City in the world does that!
Beggars can't be choosers!  :)
