Fastcorvairs carnage at Yuma New Years

My Yuma carnage

As you all know by now My third day in the sand was short.  Pulled the car off the trailer and heard and exhaust leak from some where.  Looked down and the turbo was about to fall off.

Well got the exhaust off the car. This is what I found.  I do hope that when Crawford builds his turbo exhaust that he uses a jig so he can repeat the same again.  Don't know what I will do if he don't.  Will be hard to match a new exhaust up with the turbo and the intercooler if not.

If I believe I cannot do something it makes me incapable of doing it. But when I believe that I can, then I acquire the ability to do it , even if I didn't have it at the beginning.

Ugh..

So is there anything that supports the turbo besides the header and intake tube?

Most don't but most should be. Really ought to a flex section somewhere also IMO. Gonna add one to mine.

If your not breaking something your not having fun.

Much smaller scale but I had the same issues when my turbo was installed. First I was breaking support brackets. Once that was strong enough I was breaking header pipe off of the turbo. I had to add a flex joint between the turbo and the muffler. So I agree that a flex pipe is a must to save a step to the final fix after the support.
