Hey Jerry I haven't gotten as far as you yet but what motor and radiator are you using? I'm still looking for radiator ideas.

I am using a polaris 700 efi, and a ebay Honda del sol radiatior. Off the top of my head I don't remember the manufacture. i could try and find it if you would like,  It is aluminum and looks nice.

IMO bugs right.Always rubber mount it. Radiators have a large amount of thermal expansion and will tend to crack if solid mounted.

Rubber mount and depending where your riding at a good flattened expanded metal guard are a wise safe guard against rocks and brush...
If your asking where to mount it you want it in clean air not turbulant air,
I mount mine on the woods buggies in the front, and on the 460's on the side pods

Sorry about all the posts, having problems getting pics up.

My idea is to mount the fan using the four small holes in the shroud, via tabs mounted to the frame closest to the holes with rubber gromments between the bolt and the shroud. Are those holesin the shround strong enough???

The radiator i was going to mount just like the shround, using the four mount hole on the rad.
I was also going to sit the rad on rubber gromments on some steel plate.

Am i on the right track ??

If i am not clear i will fab some stuff up and take some more pics

That sounds OK to me.  I'm mounting the same radiator by just setting the bottom pegs in rubber bushings. I'll also capture the top peg in another rubber bushing.
I'll need to tig some threaded studs on the opposite side for the fan mount.
I had to flip my radiator around too.

mine is mounted same as Rick is suggesting. I mounted my fan a little different, I dont like the idea of the fan hanging off the coolant tubes. Just cant see how that will NOT eventually rub through. Pics of my fan mounting, its not actualy touching the fins or tubes of the rad.. Had to be very careful and NOT drill into outter tubes...

I like how you mounted that.
I can't quite tell from the photos though. Did you use rivits or screws on the plates?
