Before I come down,  I'd like to buy a larger set of paddles, but I don't know which ones to buy.  I'd like a 30" paddle to insure that when i'm at full bump, my chassis isn't slapping the ground. I could go with a set of 28's too. Any input from you more experienced duners would be greatly appreciated.

I got a set of 17x33 Blasters you can use.  :m :m They would for sure keep you from slapping the ground.

Ok, I'm just bored this morning.   LMAO 8)

If I believe I cannot do something it makes me incapable of doing it. But when I believe that I can, then I acquire the ability to do it , even if I didn't have it at the beginning.

grimm.....make some adaptors to vw wide 5 as i want to see your rail with 17's  ;D       so only way your going to go 30" is on 15" rims or 14" rims. blaster 28 or maybe its blaster 30 from stu for 14" rims. blaster 26's measure 28" to te paddles and are for 12" rims.   stu 1300 paddles are prob the lightest for 15" rims and the blaster 30's for 14" rims.

I'm not sure I want to spend STU money for 1 trip/ yr...

I was thinking about the STI Sand Drifters.  After seeing Justin running 28's, I don't think I'd have an issue.  His GSXR 750 is about the same HP as my TL1000R.

03' TL1000R HP 135 Torque 78.1 lb-ft

03' GSXR 750 140 HP 62.7 lb-ft

30" tire would look sweet, but I'm not certain... 5:

on 1 hand i can understand that.......on the other hand, how much did you spend building the buggy??  i dont know of any quad utv paddle tires that are as light as stu. the blaster 26 was the smallest paddle i ever ran on any of my bike powered. i tried the sand viper 1100's and wont do that again.

I've been thru 4 sets of the slightly larger STU's on blue busa buggy. I'm going with something different this time. Don't know what but I'm tired of the weak paddles on the STU's. I may be wrong about the atv sized ones though. Maybe the paddles are more durable,I don't really know though.

I picked up a set of stu 1300 and they gotta be half weight of sand viper 1100. They finally started ripping some paddles loose. But I’d pay em forward to a fellow duner. I’m in fla tires in ga but I could prob get em shipped to ya. Just pay shipping.

i have heard you say that about the stu's and where i never ran the 1300's on my bike powered but rather the stu 26 blaster..... i never wore one of those out in 3 years. the longest i kept on of those was 3 years. the current one i have had longer but it has had 2 diff motors in it now. i had the sand vipers and they  are junk and very heavy. i am very pleased with the sand tires of america 1450's and they too are made by stu. they are a lot more aggressive than the 1300 though.

now that's an interesting topic  ;D they advertise them as 31" but on my rail budlight measured them and i think they only measured in at 29" ( not including paddles) with 10 psi in them. the paddles are the thickest i have ever seen. 1.25" tall i think but would have to re measure that. the thinnest part of the paddle at the top is 7/16" thick and like 1.25 " thick at base. they do not bend over and wrap over the side wall a ways like stu 1300's. they are flat enough on the top that one can power slide if one wants to. i like doing it so i do it every chance i get as i get a real kick out of it.

Does anyone live near Ft. Scott, KS.?

There's a set of used STI Sand Drifter paddles for sale down there, and I'd like to have them for the L.S. trip.

Shipping is a killer, but I thought if there happened to be anyone close, I would make it worth their time.

Thanks!

It's about 2 hours one way from me but I never go that direction. If it were Tulsa I'd do it in a heartbeat.

ask the person to wrap each tire ( like renolds wrap) and ship them like that. its the cheapest way and there not going to hurt them. bet you can ship them for what fuel would cost to drive one way
