Title: Fastcorvairs
Post by: fabr on July 23, 2020, 04:34:36 PM
It is with great sadness that I have to post the passing of Fastcorvairs . Most of us here can honestly say he was a true friend and mentor. He was/is a founding member of DTSfab and it seems like DTS foresaw his passing with taking a few days off and contemplating what was to come. Here's wishing smooth sand and perfect weather to our friend,Fastcorvairs/ Glenn Ziesnenis .RIP

I learned so much from Glen, no words to describe how much he will be missed.

A very kind and generous soul.  He was always so quick to lend a hand in any fashion he could.  Shana enjoyed him a great deal.  He will be missed.

glenn has touched sooooo many lives in his life time. he was always first to offer to lend a hand in any situation. he had forgotten more than most will ever learn! he will be missed greatly and the dune trips will never be quite the same with out him.  RIP GLENN

There will be a big void, hole in our future dune trips, they just won't be the same.  As DS said, always the first to jump in and lend a hand,  Here he is digging MY car out while I was getting a picture.
Rest in peace my friend.............

Then the one of Fast trying to run over Doug, that will always be a classic:   rofl

This was a trip to Idaho in 2013 with Glenn, Jerry and myself.  Fast had his fuel pump quit, next day air got a new and had it running about 4:00.  We went for a ride with Jerry leading, 3rd and 4th gear thru the big hills, wow.  One of the fastest I have ever been on.  When we stopped Fast said "If I die today, I will be happy, that was the best run ever".  This is a picture from the far West end of the dunes.

Glenn was the greatest friend I have ever had. Life changing.....
I can't imagine what my life would be like if I had never met him.
What a great run.

fantastic pictures guys!! i was looking for some pictures yesterday. unfortunately the lap top i had most of them on was destroyed. i had been asked how long i had known glenn. i have not known him as long as many others and based on pics it looked like 2008. this is not correct as i do remember when he was still running that soon to be green rail with the short star v6 in it. fabbr is actually the one that introduced us while glenn was at dueces. there was a friend of there's over there that had a rail covered in carpet or fur.....or atleast he knew who he was.

there are a lot of stories about glenn for sure, there is one that had me laughing very hard.  he was up and going about 6 am as normal one morning at cowboy camp. he had a cup of coffee and was blowing the grey water out. i say blowing as it looked like a fire hydrant  rofl. park ranger pulls up and tells glenn, " sir, you cannot let your grey water out in the park", glenn said sorry, he didn't know that and he shut it off. i watched glenn stand at the edge of the road and watch the ranger drive off. he then walked back to the camper and ripped the vavle, smiled and continued drinking his coffee as we watched a river form  LMAO LMAO that must have been a 60 gal tank and full!  :m

everyone knows how nice Glenn was.
Well one day in Idaho he was trying to look back at his motor while driving slow just outside of camp. Well he hung it up on top of a sharks tail. (Top of the dune) So I went to help him get loose but I couldn't pass up a picture first.
This was the only time that Glenn ever flipped me off.   We laughed so hard.  LMAO

Glenn didn't want springs on his whips so they would be ridged. I watched him pull into his car trailer and break both of them off.  TWICE!
The second time I did fell bad for him....
He took the broken whips and put them in holes he drilled in the floor at the back of the trailer after he pulled out so he couldn't pull back in until he moved them and took down the ones on the car.

This was the first year I went to Idaho with Glenn. We both just built new Sand Sprite 6 cars. His had a bad ass Corvair motor and mine had a V-Dub he helped me build. I leaned so much from him.
Great times.....

I have only seen Glenn get stuck once, that was in the soft fluff at the top of a hill in Glamis.  He got wedged between the trees once, but somehow wiggled thru them with a little help.

I remember the first ride he gave me. No one was taking collection at the gate, and as soon as we hit the first whoop he started putting his foot in the throttle. I had only met him the night before, but as that rail started making boost, and he started to giggle, I knew I was going to like Glenn. I had that grin on my face till long after we made it back to camp.

Last fall trip I stopped by Glenn's house on my way down to L.S. and he was putting his truck back together literally hours before we left. Doug had been there for a couple of days before I got there, and Glenn and Sylvia treated us like their own. So thankful I stopped. Got to have dinner with them and Glenn wouldn't let me stay in my SUV, and insisted that I should sleep in his toy hauler. Such a kind and generous soul, and he wasn't afraid to tell you about his belief in the Lord.

God gained another son. Rest in peace my brother, and thank you for showing me kindness and generosity.  Trips will not be the same without him.
