dunebound is right I have a beefed up '76 091.   I have a friend that builds the vw transaxles not to far away so I had him gut my case and replace 1-4 & r with weddle gears as well as all the bearings with weddle race bearings and super diff w/ 4 spider gears. the 4 spiders do make a very noticeable difference on tractions , like limited slip. also had all new snap rings, retainers, weddles shifter assy, all aluminum nose cone and various other small parts installed, basically the only thing stock is the r&p and main case and throw out linkage. I did not however pop for the weddle r&p because according to weddle there chromoly r&p is only 25 o/o stronger than OE but there r&p on the 5 rib 002 there's is 85 o/o stronger and the 002 3 rib there's is 150 o/o stronger, or at least this is what I was told.  I just couldn't justify the price for only a 25 o/o increase. I did try the stock 1st & 2nd gears before I had the weddle gears added and I found out that stock 2nd, out here and for the way I drive, only lasted 14 hrs. what a fun 14 hrs thought.

I know the question was not for me, but this might help you re: car dimensions.
Sand Limo Squirt - 13'6" tip to tail - I have to back into toy hauler and place rear wing / trunk into kitchen area.  It fits, but not much room for error and I have to put very small "rollers" on it.

Nice vid - you have lots to watch on You tube.

Might be easier to search You Tube by user name and title of video - "Little Sahara - First Time Sandcar Wheelie"

or, copy and paste from here and insert the www into a new browser window?

I have had the pleasure or driving that car. I drove it with the short wheel base on the dirt. Turns great and will drag its ass if you stand on it right. The good part is once the wheels are up it tracks straight. Wheelies are just good clean fun! ;D

I do so enjoy beating on others stuff! ;D ;D ;D ;D
