No forums yet. Really wondering if anyone knows of these, or any other gasifiers all set up, ready to go.

Thanks for the link. I'll check it out.

That's why I'm looking for a functioning unit I can buy. I remember the lengths you went to to try to get it working right. I don't have the time for that, either.

Many of those "proven" units aren't proven. You need to check into things like the filters and what the media is.

From what I have read I agree.  Seems like there are plenty of tricks and maintenance even with the good units.

If you are looking for short term generation only during outages I would just pay for the gas/diesel and save the headaches.  Seems to me that you have to be really committed to make the wood gas work, and it really only pays off if you use it a lot.

That's a good point. I do kinda want to get my feet wet with this technology, though.

It's kind of a mixed bag...It's principle is so simple....But the real world running unit has so many variables that it get's to be mind boggling...
Have you checked out the woodgas group?

Their the best of the best with real world working knowledge of actual running gasifiers...
They are pretty much a bunch of elitist snobs... BUT THEY KNOW THEIR SHIT
