Title: This has been missing for a while
Post by: Yummi on September 27, 2015, 03:12:57 PM
They used to do this at the fair grounds here in Phoenix.  Last event was in a parking lot.  They are back with a vengeance.    Huge turnout!  Next year will be bigger and better.  The event was "off road"  had it all.  Jeeps, sand, SxS, RVs, etc.  IMHO better than the SSSS.   AC building, etc.  over 20,000 folks on Saturday.

We worked the ASA booth.  Over 15k net in profit via all sales.

As I had a vendor pass, had a chance to walk the show before the crowds.  Here is a slide show of about 75 pictures I clicked off this AM for folks that cannot make events like this.

Don't know if they are in order, don't have time to upload them each by each.

Enjoy.

Been wearing boots from freshman year on.   Just a working stiff.

The old guy is Bob Mason.  He has done more to keep the dunes open than most any guy I know.  Great guy.

Thanks for posting Yummi.  Looks to be bigger then the SSSS.  More sand cars for sure then the SSSS from what I'm reading.  Like the side by side with the training wheels on it.   rofl

That is the bondurant ride.  They teach folks tip over points on sxs for safety / control.  I have done a few bondurant courses.  They simply kick ass.  They encourage you to abuse the cars.  Dump the clutch, light em up, skid, etc.   Well worth the price of admission.

On the SxS deal they run pavement 20% and lucus short course 80%.  Sounds like a good class.

They had Raw, S and S, Limo, Twisted Alloy, some desert cars, etc.  S and S has really really stepped up their game.
