I was actually talking about the machine off e-bay, the guy said if I were to use it, it would stuff the computer. I thought he was just trying to get a sale for another plasma cutter..

Hey Matt was that from Torchmate?
Yeah mate sure was. It might even be cheaper now. I was looking at a thermal dynamics cutmaster 51 and through the USA its 1600aud for the machine they were about 2700aud before. Heaps cheaper than i thought. Easily cut through 1/2" plate.

Yeah I was thinking about getting one myself! But if Dan's gonna be a Nice guy and share his wealth of knowledge I'll try and do it myself and save a few bucks, cause God knows I've blown enough, and been taken for a bit too!!

HF is used to establish the arc for plasma cutting. It wouldn't surprise me if higher quality machines were able to better contain the HF to the cutting circuit.

Yeah maybe, cause yeah as I said the guy was saying the high frequency would stuff the computer and eventually it would crash. I dunno much about it that's why I asked if anyone knew, as I thought he may have been trying to just make another sale..
