Title: Figured out my fan issue.
Post by: Yummi on August 22, 2010, 06:50:51 PM
At the last night ride, I was worried that the fans were not coming on. Checked fuses, etc and could not figure it out - so; we loaded up for the long drive back home. Did not mess with it until just recently and still could not figure it out.  The guy that used to own the car offered to come over and help trouble shoot it.

After some quick diagnosis, he found the issue.

Come to find out - the issue was me. I was not waiting long enough for the fans to kick on at 212*. DOH! Long day for a short ride on my part. One that did not have to be so short.

DOH!

So, onto a new question.  The grounding unit for the temp idiot light starts to come on at 180*.  Figure i have two choices - wire it into fan relay - ie on at 212* or look for switch instead of grounding on - that is the light is dim at 180* and fully on at whatever - but I just want it on about about 220*.

Any ideas other than sorting it out through the ECU switch?

Now I just have to decide about the upcoming night ride.....
