help with driven pulley
« on: November 04, 2009, 03:46:09 PM »
I"ve got a Comet 94 series torque converter.  I need a driven pulley, the mate to the 94C is part number:  212291A which has a 1" dia shaft hole.  Comet closed its doors and the two places I tried to order it from no longer carry them.  Does anyone have a source for these parts or can you recommend another brand pulley that would work?  Seems like any pulley wheel with the same dimensions should work.
Sitt'n idle,
Boomer

Yes.  The one I had froze onto the jack shaft and when I couln't get it off I had to cut it out of the kart it was in.  I still couldn't get it out and took it to the shop where they put 30 tons of pressure on it and still it would not budge.  I need the driven pulley on a 1" key'd shaft to complete my drive line.  In searching the web the two places that said they had them could no longer get them as Comet industries is now out of business.  As for exact dimensions of the pulley I need I can get them but the part number given above is exactly what came off the kart and what I would like to replace it with.

Does anyone have a driven clutch sitting around in their "parts warehouse" to offer up to a builder in need?

Being I am slightly familer with the 94c (driven sled with them a good bit. Never had issues with them) and not sure about the driven you seek what diameter and width was it?

Ski doo drivens of the early 90's are common. They fit a 1 inch keyed  shaft and you can adjust width of them with three allen head screws to a point to fit a good few belts.

Whats the width of the key yours had or does that not matter as you need a whole new shaft (anyways) due to the old one sticking?
