Title: 2 Liter RZR!
Post by: dsrace on November 12, 2021, 08:30:15 AM
looks like the new rzr has a 2.0 ltre 4 cyl engine. wonder how high it spins, one thing i didnt hear is if they added a stronger gear box..... you know, in case someone boosts the motor a bit. i think it said 225 hp ( no tq spec in te ad i read) factory tuning with full emissions. maybe 250 hp once deleted and tuned correctly?

I haven't kept up but that takes it out of the sxs world so far as insurance and such doesn't it?

i actually do not know. i know that a lot of states have a 1000cc rule for the trails. the 2.0 will not be legal as 1000 cc and under are utv's. not sure how insurance would view that and again changes based on state. def needed the bigger engine for duning but the 1000's are great for the trails. i doubt the duners out number the trail runners. if they did.....honda would've built a factory turbo sxs.

the $32k+ sob looks badass. I suggest you buy it and forget fixing yours.

I shouldn't says looks good. It's still an ugly rzr but looks to be a performer. 29" rear travel!!!!

it's all over youtube right now, that is the only reason i saw it.

the thought has crossed my mind with the performance that these unit's are starting to achieve. still not a sand car though! i would like to say that they are cheaper to repair but they are not. they all have inherent design flaws as well, such as bump steer and lack of real roll cages etc etc.

Haha. I like how you've put it. And I agree.

i wonder how long before someone make a turbo kit for the 2.0?! i wonder how much stronger the gear box is and how well it will handle the tq of the 2.0 boosted? i say that because i do not know if they are using the same gear box on the rearend. looks like they are on the front but with a stronger drive shaft. also noticed they are using stronger axles on the rear as well.  looks like thats a dry sumped 4 cyl as well.

I wonder how long this increase in performance will last.  At some point I would think liability issues will rear its ugly head.

i agree and i assumed that's one of the largest reasons they stayed 1000 cc's and under in the past. that and many states won't allow anything over 1000 on the trails. one would think they have doubled the tq but there is no tq spec on there site. not a surprise as hp is the only question the vast majority ask as they simply do not know better. it appears that 2ltre engine is dry sumped?!?
