So I called the office and they show a bunch of dates open. She said May 3rd thru May 7th had only 1 site booked. We will have to call her to book them. Melissa @ Phone: (580) 824-1471. How do those dates sound. The month of April is pretty booked with Easter and Snake hunt

my spring trip is up in the air for now. need to make some decisions as to which way i want to go. may reserve a spot and hope for the best. a real shame april is booked out as thats usually a cooler month. must be nice having the gov lodge fabr ;D

well it looks like I'm out for this trip. The main power plant, I work at is coming down for outage repairs. from 4/18/2022 to 5/14/2022. no time off given when we are in outage. Have fun everyone. see you in the spring.

sounds like it hinges a little on the brains completing there modification. i don't mind the heat of summer to much. just do the rides at sun rise until it gets warmed up. then hang out at camp with your favorite beverage and shade tree. go back out at sunset.

I dune in the summer heat. I like it because it eliminates 99 % of others. To me, it isn't hot while driving. Only hot sitting outside in camp. That is why we all have a/c now! I welcome it right now, because we just got hit with a winter storm.

i am officially out on the spring trip. cannot get parts faste enough nor find missing part to finish scotts rail. i have too many other projects to get done as well. to the truck and toyhauler let alone the house :m

That sucks. We definitely need to set up another trip for everyone to get together, as soon as you get caught up. We will send pics to you from the May trip. You know, just to tease you! (Now I probably just jinxed myself, and my buggy won't work) I had a delay here at home with my progress, lately. It seems that my electrical system couldn't handle the power load from the 12 miles of tig welding my heavy aluminum fuel tank. It melted the wiring in my meter/breaker box, and completely exploded the heavy lug and breaker! I should have took a picture of it. Luckily my power company didn't ask questions. Oh, and also didn't burn my property to the ground and die!

I give it another year before you trade it in on something yet again................ :m If you traded in a wife everytime it wasn't perfect you'd be on what? number 15???? :m I guess that must mean you got lucky and Denise was perfect right from the beginning. You need the same luck with toyhaulers. ;) ;) ;D ;D rofl :m

I haven't fired mine up yet and just remembered my leveling jacks were leaking bad when I put the M/H away last year.

i cannt believe you didnt burn the garge down! melted the lug and no fire, damn! glad there was no fire, glad you caught it now and will make it better.
ya it does suck missing a trip. this will be the only trip i havent made since the group runs started. once i get each rail done there will have to be a short test and tune dune run.

so this toyhauler is brand new. i named it the cfu toyhauler., custom fixxer upper. :nw the roof leaked on the last dune trip which was the 1st trip. the water pumps back flow check ball is stuck partially open. filled my 100 gal fresh tanks over the course of 3 days. the winch failed and i know why now. i also found out they lag screwed the winch to a 12" long 2x8 and lag screwed that to the floor. the lags started pulling out as i winched my rail in last time. i know this as i swapped the winch out for a 4500 lb vs the 3500 lb they "installed" . a custom installationi paid extra for to have it permanantly mounted not lag screwed! i did get a steel tool box (48lbs empty) installed on the tongue for more tongue weight. have not moved the spare tires yet for better balance. i have made several repairs that just shouln't have been. i wont bore anyone with details kick

i have some more work to do on the truck as well. i replaced the injectors with brand new ones. thing idles far far better then it did before. also has noticeably a bit more power, who would've guessed that one when only 4 injs weren't right lol hell 2 weren't even working at idle. so now that it is running at the power level it should've been at 5 years ago i am experiencing axle wrap. it's not horrible but now noticeable empty where it was only noticeable loaded before. i ordered some parts to reduce this effect and yes i know when one doubles the factory power level their leaf spring pack design sort of becomes obsolete.

to be honest, i expected some issues especially with brand new. i didnt expect the pile of issues that i recieved and have had with dune sport as a company. the customer service issues should've never happened at all. they need some quality staff members for actual qc , that would go a looooooong way to cutting wasteful mistakes. the owner micro managing all dept's needs to stop. he is the root cause of several of my issues. took a number of email and a couple heated calls but he finally admitted it. doesnt mean he cares that it happened kick he should not be speaking with customers either imo.

worst part is that i drew the floor plan to be custom taylored to our actual needs and most of our wants. it fit damn well for us and our sand rail with room for our children. love hate relationship??? :m :nw kick i'll get it done or it will be hit by a tornado ;)

yes it does! ;D as well as an air cleaner but 10" tall wet grass would be no issue with the hair dryer ;D can you imagine the cyl pressure at 5 psi ( with an appropriately sized turbo ) and the moment the chickity china cast aluminum engine lets go of it's head!! rofl rofl

so hard to say what they are doing for sure. at a glace it would appear that they bought that ground. i'm sure they will install atleast one more camp ground to increase the number of sxs's. i wonder if they going to waste even more money on another observation point or actually make improvements to the north camp ground??

Near 100% chance of rain,rain.rain all day Wednesday. Unless something changes I'll probably drive vette down Wed after noon late. IF the Wed forecast changes I'll drive down with big buggy Tuesday afternoon and be ready to ride Tuesday evening or Wed. morning .

Glad to hear that. I have to go to Wichita tomorrow (Tuesday) and borrow a truck, come back home, load my trailer and all my junk, them head to the dunes. I will have to decide how long I can stay awake to determine when I will get there.
