Solitude

First time ever.  I was the only person in the dunes. Totally empty. Priceless.

Those are the BEST days!  Last fall I had Silver Lake to myself for maybe 45 min....and then a jeep showed up.   LOL
I picked out a nice fast line and did 3-4 fast laps around the dunes.  Freaking AWESOME!

Good times.

and no db level checks or spark arrestors. you do have to pay every morning to get in for the day and they raised it to $10 per person in the toy. used to be $7 per driver. you will enjoy a night ride too....if we can get a few together for a night ride. i'm sure doug will be game.

Man, I'm getting STOKED!!  I'm glad I got my HID's working and they light stuff up!

I can't imagine being in an area where you have to possibly worry about fuel.  HAA!  Iv'e never been on any other dunes with my car.

I was on a service call just north of Los Angeles last February.  I literally had sign off from the customer at 9am....  Yeah, I hopped in my rental Mustang GT convertible with 125 miles and drove to Pismo Beach and rented the biggest POS RZR 900.  But I tell ya what, being out on the dunes in February was freaking AWESOME!  The size of that place was insane!

oh i bet the rzr900 was a riot lol well LS isnt a huge place. fast could compare pismo and LS as he has been to both. the cali people i have talked to arent big fans of pismo as they all say its small and dirty. i have no idea as i have never been there but i have to imagine there comparing it to glamis. one thing i have heard a lot of is that they pre fer st a over glamis. more based on people and conditions over size though. again i've never been to glamis or psimo so i cannot say but i have been to st a idaho dunes!

you will enjoy the oklahoma dunes for sure. from what i'm told far less rules.

Until St.A gets overran with people it is my preference . 24 hour drive either way for me so I'll take St.A first. LS is 4 hours for me soooooo guess why I bought a place there. ;D Ya,LS is only 1500+- acres but there are a few pretty tall dunes especially with now much they have changed at the north end the last couple years .I've never seen this much change in this short a time before. Buttercup is almost gone,IMO.

I like how you say ONLY 1500 acres.  My sand box is 450 acres.  LOL  I t looks line it's a touch over 1,000 miles from my house to LS and appx 15 hours.  I will probably leave either on Sunday the 21st or Monday the 22nd.  If I leave the house at 5am, that should put me at LS by 7pm or so.  That includes the 1 hr time change.
